What does it do?
Less congested streets. Smart road technology can track vehicles and adjust traffic lights based on traffic conditions, helping to avoid bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Improving road and pedestrian safety. Pedestrian deaths have increased by a staggering 46% over the past decade compared to a 5% increase in all other traffic-related deaths. Smart road equipment deployed at intersections can provide alerts that improve the safety of vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.
